The story goes that in 1866 G. Kuhn, began building a locomotive. True or not, it was not until 1876 that the company Mailänder was founded. Twelve years later, Mailänder began to produce machines for printing on metal parts. In 1974 two employees, having founded the new company Bauer + Kunzi, were asked to take over the distribution of the Mailänder printing and lacquering machines. In 1994 Mailänder joined forces with LTG, formerly known as Cärrier Lufttechnische Gesellschaft. Nine years later, Bauer + Kunzi became a subsidiary of Koenig & Bauer AG (KBA), manufacturers of printing machinery. In 2006 the company KBA-MetalPrint was formed by the merger of Bauer + Kunzi (as subsidiary of KBA) and LTG-Mailänder
Mailänder / KBA-MetalPrint, the first system supplier of cost-effective and environmentally friendly metal printing systems.
